My Story

I've lived in many places after growing up in the small town of Massillon, Ohio. Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Napa, Singapore, Houston, and now Reno, NV. Each place has been a great experience; culture, history, weather, point of view, and most of all, the friends and colleagues I meet along the way.

I graduated Notre Dame with a degree in psychology and then earned a master's in counseling from Kent State University. I worked in a mental health hospital, a school for emotionally disturbed children and eventually became the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Mental Health in Massachusetts. I went back to school, full time, while working, and received my doctorate in sociology from Boston University.

From there I switched professions and became a consultant working with large multi-national corporations, non-profits, and Silicon Valley start-ups. I worked with companies on four continents and learned a great deal from my clients and the challenges we worked on together.

Now I'm writing thrillers where my characters must overcome stiff challenges while enduring the perilous conditions of climate change. One of the things I've enjoyed most about reading, even in escape novels, is when the story presented a point of view that taught me something. I hope my stories are fun to read and present a perspective the reader can further investigate.

Currently The Rocket Scientist  is set to publish Feb. 2026. My futuristic mystery thriller, The President's Detective, is being reviewed by literary agents. The Cardinal is my third novel.
